Saturday 14th November was the Beagle Club Open Show with breed specialist judge Hazel Deans (Gempeni). I was so delighted Zulu won Open Dog and Best Dog then Reserve Best in Show! (Pictured above with the judge is BIS, RBIS, BPIS & BVIS) This was Kea's second show, despite her not wanting to stand still for more than a second she moved out well and I was very pleased with her placings 3rd in Minor Puppy Bitch and 4th in Novice Bitch. Many thanks to the judge for super day!
What a weekend! Zulu wins the RDCC & RBIS at West Mercia Beagle Club Championship Show on the 1st of November 09 under breed specialist Barbara Roderick (Barterhound). We are so thrilled with what Zulu has achieved, big thank you to the judge for another wonderful day. Zulu won the RDCC at this same show last year (our lucky show).
Kea had a wonderful start to her show career! At Kensington Canine Open Show on the 31st October 09, Kea won BOB & BP under David Roberts (Kybo) then G4 & PG1 under Colin Richardson. I'm very proud of Kea she showed very well for her first time, a promising start. Many thanks to both judges.

WHAT A DAY!!!! Zulu wins the DCC and BOS at Driffield Championship Show on the 3rd October 09 under breed specialist Jim Woodcock (Roddwood). Zulu was in Post Graduate Dog for the last time, I was so thrilled he won the class and his way out in style. I can't really describe how it felt to win mine and Zulu's first CC, it was just amazing the most fantastic day I have ever had, one I will cherish forever. A massive thank you to the judge, this really was the best Birthday present I have ever had! Pictured above is the judge with his BCC & BOB Ch Emzibobs Honeybun At Stormpasture JW Sh.CM (made up to Champion on the day) DCC & BOS Rossut Zulu Of Pakowhai JW Sh.CM and BPIB Nedlaw Scaramouche.
Zulu wins Post Graduate Dog at Darlington Championship Show on the 18th September 09 under breed specialist Jen Davies! My mum and I made our last road trip for a while together for Darlington and had an overnight stop at a lovely B&B the night before the show. This was a very special show as my Mum and Dad were moving back to New Zealand two days later so Zulu winning his class with my mum there watching was fantastic she was very proud of her grand dog (yes that's what she calls them). Many thanks to judge Jen Davies for a lovely day.
Zulu and Folly had another super show at East of England Championship Show on the 10th July 09 under Hound specialist Phil Freer. Zulu won Post Graduate Dog and Folly was placed 2nd in Post Graduate Bitch! To top it off Zulu was placed 2nd in a massive Special Beginners Stakes class winning £80 under the late Roy Metcalfe (a truely lovely man and will be very much missed in the dog world). It was a privledge to show under him and have him think so highly of Zulu.
On the 3rd of July 2009 the day after we got back from our lovely holiday in Cuba I took Zulu and Folly to Windsor Championship Show under breed specialist Penny Jeffries. We had a great day with both Zulu and Folly been placed 2nd in Post Graduate Dog and Post Graduate Bitch. Many thanks to Andrea and David for looking after our hounds so well while we were on holiday.
What a fantastic day Zulu and I had at Southern Counties Championship Show on the 6th June! Zulu won Post Graduate Dog then the RDCC under breed specialist Diana Brown (Raimex). There was a brilliant entry this year of 177, so it was a real thrill for Zulu to be awarded the RDCC in such good company. The DCC was awarded to a dog I much admire Bayard Garrick of Ramseyville, many congratulations Mairi and Garry! Many thanks to the judge for a very special day.
At Redditch & District Open Show on the 16th May Zulu won BOB and Hound Group 2 under Pamela Mottershaw (Elangi). These wins gave Zulu his final points for his ShCM.
Dan and Zulu had a day out on the 3rd of May at Devon & Cornwall Beagle Club Championship Show. I was unable to attend the show as I had a friend visiting from New York! Before you ask no Dan didn't handle Zulu, his breeder Pat Sutton very kindly handled Zulu to win a very large Post Graduate Dog class. The dog judge for the day was breed specialist Henry Haddy (Rivenlea). Many thanks to the Judge and Pat for handling Zulu.
Zulu and I had a super day at Mountsorrel & District Open Show on the 12th of April. Zulu was awarded BOB by Gordon Cunningham (Walamadengie), Hound Group 1 by Neville Sims (Elverdal) then Best in Show by Janet Gunn (Flintstock)! It was a fantastic day many thanks to the judges!
